❓ How the counter works

The counter analyzes text in real time on every input or paste. It counts characters with and without spaces, words and lines. Text is never sent to the server — everything is calculated locally in the browser.

“Copy text” puts the field content on the clipboard.

🔤 What we count

Total characters

All characters including spaces; line breaks are excluded

Without spaces

All whitespace is removed: space, tab, newline

Words

Text split on whitespace after trim(); empty text = 0 words

Lines

Lines separated by newlines; empty text = 0 lines

💡 Example

Text: “Hello, world!” (one line, two words):

  • Total characters: 13 (including space and punctuation)
  • Without spaces: 12
  • Words: 2
  • Lines: 1
